JT-NM Tested Program (Spring 2020)

The JT-NM Tested program for the Spring of 2020 was to include a self-tested element, followed by a face-to-face week-long JT-NM Tested validation session. The self-tested element, which is new, asked vendors to perform their own tests, following a test plan developed by the JT-NM Experts Group. Due to unforeseen circumstances related to the COIVD virus, JT-NM canceled the face-to-face event. The JT-NM decided to proceed with the program, publishing the self-tested results along with the JT-NM Test Plans, which you will find in the catalogs available for download below.

The JT-NM Experts group sought ways to recreate the face-to-face element of the program. In the case of NMOS Controllers, it was decided that vendors would use a VPN to connect to a lab at CBC/Radio Canada where the JT-NM Tested team could observe the results as vendors executed different elements of the controller test plan. In this case, JT-NM personnel were able to verify the results, and so JT-NM is issuing "JT-NM Tested" badges for controller testing. For all other tests, JT-NM is issuing "Self-Tested" badges, indicating that the published results are submitted by vendors who conducted the testing themselves. The test plans may be downloaded below.

JT-NM Cybersecurity Report - February 2020

The JT-NM conducted cybersecurity testing during a JT-NM Tested event held during the summer of 2019. The results of this testing are included in the report which you can download here.

The JT-NM Tested Program (September 2019)

The JT-NM Tested program for IBC 2019 adds testing for NMOS/JT-NM TR-1001 in addition to SMPTE ST 2110 testing. The NAB 2019 program only covered ST 2110.

The JT-NM Tested program offers prospective purchasers of IP-based equipment greater, more documented insight into how vendor equipment aligns with open industry standards; specifically SMPTE ST 2110, SMPTE ST 2059, and JT-NM TR-1001-1 including AMWA NMOS IS-04 and IS-05. IS-08 was also tested.

For IBC, there are two JT-NM Tested Catalogs. One for ST 2110, and the other for NMOS/JT-NM TR-1001-1. The catalogs document the test procedures, test equipment and results of the JT-NM Tested event that was held during the week of August 19, 2019 at Riedel Communications in Wuppertal, Germany. This program is not a certification program; rather it is a snapshot in time of how vendor equipment conforms to key parts of SMPTE standards, providing prospective purchasers and users with a reference as they begin their equipment evaluation and qualification process.
