JT-NM Support for EBU R 152 and NMOS

The JT-NM notes that the European Broadcasting Union (EBU), last week published its position with regard to "Adoption of an Open Discovery & Connection Protocol" as EBU R 152 (March 2019).

This seems illustrate a preference in the user community for open, collaboratively developed technologies for discovery & registration of professional media devices, and an open approach to connection management. Furthermore, there is a call for automated configuration of media nodes through the adoption of JT-NM TR-1001-1, to reduce users workload when installing and maintaining SMPTE ST 2110-based media nodes.

The EBU document states a preference for AMWA NMOS IS-04, NMOS IS-05, and JT-NM TR-1001-1 as examples of such collaboratively developed approaches. JT-NM notes that it may be appropriate for it to expand the JT-NM Tested program to include these technologies as we look forward to our next events.
